Across the globe, many companies are struggling to fill Information and Communication Technology (IT/ICT) positions that require coding or programming skills and an understanding of computer hardware. Whether the company is a new tech start-up, a thriving financial institution, a public sector arm, or a blue-chip manufacturer, chances are good that
they have lots of ICT positions to fill but are finding it challenging to source skilled students from
local pool of resources.
On the other hand, to develop computer coding skills is a challenge for many countries around the
world. While many high schools have started implementing computer literacy courses as part of their
curriculum, there is still a lot that can be done
to pique students’ interest in coding and give them the effective tools and resources they need to
these STEM skills to ensure a brighter future for themselves and the nation.
