The Call-for-Code Odisha Day Hackathon is an invitation to all developers in or connected to Odisha to develop applications to combat the aftermath of disasters such as Fani, the recent super-cyclone that devastatingly swept across the State.
Call for Code 2019 is a developer learning journey that challenges them to ideate and build a technology based solution to mitigate the negative impact of natural disasters. This 'journey' takes the form of a hackathon, though, to motivate developers to put on their innovation caps!
The multi-year, global challenge is made possible by IBM as founding member in partnership with UNO (Human Rights Commission), American Red Cross Society, Linux Foundation, David Clark Cause and Clinton Foundation. This Odisha event is held jointly by the Xavier School of Computer Science & Engineering and IBM-India.
Call for Code was launched last year. Details about the project that emerged as the winner of the 2018 edition can be found here https://developer.ibm.com/blogs/with-project-owl-a-smart-network-of-rubber-ducks-can-save-lives/. More details at https://callforcode.org and https://developer.ibm.com/callforcode
